A new portrait of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with baby Archie has caused outrage online after it shocked fans with how the family were depicted.
The illustrated picture shows the new royal baby crying in his mother’s outstretched arms, with an oversized crown on his head.
The painting by a French artist shows a confused-looking Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
And while the image may have been trying to evoke feelings that were relatable to all parents, the picture has been smashed with criticism on-line.
“This picture is trash,” one person wrote when it appeared on Instagram.
“You wanna do a funny drawing? That’s fine, but don’t portray them... with them eyes and as if she doesn't know how to carry a child.”
However, some could see the artist’s intent, and described the drawing as a ‘lovely and funny illustration’.
“Such a cool pic and so exciting for the family,” one wrote, with another adding the light hearted image was ‘very funny’.
“Funny, crazy and lovely! (and Prince Harry crosses eyes is clearly a lovely joke for the craziest moment of our lives, the moment we have our child in our arms!).”
Later, maybe feeling the pressure from social media, the studio posted another version of the new royal family in a more relaxed moment, showing all three cuddled in close - and with no cross-eyes!
And fans were a lot happier, 'Glad to see you finally found some respect,' said one. 'You were worse than Meghan's sister with your last picture,' said another.
