Royal baby latest: Why midwife says it could be TWINS
Wow
As the world waits for the arrival of Baby Sussex, a midwife has weighed in to suggest that Meghan Markle may be expecting twins.
Lesley Gilchrist, a midwife and founder of skincare company My Expert Midwife, said Meghan's baby bump is much "larger than expected" - a telling sign she could be expecting more than one baby.
She also said Meghan's travel habits and not flying after 30 weeks pregnancy was another huge clue she may be expecting multiples.
“Meghan has consistently carried a larger than expected bump suggesting she could be expecting twins,” Lesley told the ".
"When the Duchess was supposed to be around 18 weeks she looked more like what you expect at 22-24 weeks of gestation.
“It might be that she has simply grown a really healthy baby.
“The Duchess is focused on good self-care and a healthy diet and lifestyle, all which undoubtedly help with foetal growth, but it wouldn’t make that much of a difference; twins however would."
Curtailing her travel plans at an early stage is another big clue that the Duchess of Sussex may be expecting twins, Lesley said.
"The Duchess confirmed she was around six months pregnant in mid-January meaning she would have been between 28-30 weeks’ gestation, putting her well within the official recommendations by the Royal College of Obstetricians for mum's pregnant with twins to avoid air travel after 32 weeks."
Meghan is now believed to be week overdue, with rising speculations she may end up giving birth at a hospital.
