Carole Middleton gives first ever interview

She’s remained respectfully tight-lipped during the 13 years since daughter Kate Middleton began her relationship with Prince William, but Carole Middleton has finally given her first interview.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the 63-year-old said that despite the fact Kate will one day be Queen, “life is really normal – most of the time.”

In fact, despite not a day going by without a headline popping up about her daughter, Carole says she’s spent the last year avoiding the tabloids.

“I thought it was better to know what people thought. But it doesn’t make any difference,” she said, “I’m not really sure how I’m perceived now.”

Instead Carole prefers to devote her time to her grandchildren and her business Party Pieces.

“I don’t see myself stopping [work],” she said, “I’ve got a billion ideas I still want to do.”

During the interview Carole also revealed that Kate and sister Pippa were once heavily involved in the family business.

"They did a lot of modelling. Catherine was on the cover of one of the catalogues, blowing out candles. Later on, she did some styling and set up the First Birthday side of the business. Pippa did the blog. I still value their ideas and opinions."

And proving that the Middleton’s are as close as ever, The Telegraph revealed that Kate even text her mum during the interview!
