Urgent car recall: Toyota issues urgent recall of 45,000 cars
Brands include Camry, Corolla, Kluger, Landcruiser, FJ Cruiser, Hilux and Prado.
Toyota has issued a huge recall of 45,000 cars, there are fears that they may suddenly stop.
Brands include Camry, Corolla, Kluger, Landcruiser, FJ Cruiser, Hilux and Prado.
The recall applies to cars sold nationally between October 2013 and April 2020.
Product Safety Australia lists the fault as: “The fuel pump on affected vehicles may stop operating. If the fuel pump stops working, warning lights and messages may display on the instrument panel, and the engine may not run smoothly. This can result in the vehicle stalling and the vehicle may not be able to be restarted.”
A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash, which may cause injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
Toyota Australia will contact owners in writing with a notification advising of the recall and then re-contact once the parts are available. The repairs will be free of charge.
