The sign that made Pink stop her concert
Singer shares a very special moment with fan
Pink made a fan’s wish come true at her concert in Brisbane on Monday night.
Queensland teen Leah Murphy tragically lost her mum recently. Both were huge fans of Pink and her music and planned to go to the concert this week.
On Monday night at Pink's Beautiful Trauma show, Leah and her friends held up a sign saying “My name is Leah -- I'm 14 years old. I lost my beautiful Mum last month. I would LOVE a hug … Please!"
Pink noticed the sign but couldn’t read it, so concert goers passed a flyer up for the singer to see.
The crowd made way for Leah to reach the front row, and that’s when Pink held her in a tight embrace, saying “it’s going to be ok.”
The excited teen was beside herself, especially when Pink then signed her arm and posed for a selfie with her before heading back to the stage to continue the show, but not before saying ‘everyone, call your mum when you get home.’
Her aunt, Katrina Donkin, who was also at the show, said in an interview with the ABC that Leah hasn’t stopped talking about the special moment since.
"I haven't seen her smile so much since. Her dad said he woke up feeling happy today, happier than he has been in a long time," she said.
“She's just a huge, huge fan of Pink, and so was her mum, so it was just amazing she took the time to give her a hug.”
