A woman has written a heartwarming post that any mum who has ever doubted herself needs to read.
Published on the Love What Matters Facebook page, Ashle Potter's kind and positive words are going viral for the best reason: they provide support to all mums, regardless of who they are and how they raise their children.
"To the mum who's breastfeeding: Way to go! It really is an amazing gift to give your baby, for any amount of time that you can manage! You're a good mum,” the post begins.
She continues: “To the mum who's formula feeding: Isn't science amazing? To think there was a time when a baby with a mother who couldn't produce enough would suffer, but now? Better living through chemistry! You're a good mum.
“To the cloth diapering mum: Fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You're a good mum.
“To the disposable diapering mum: Wow those things hold a lot, and it's excellent to not worry about leakage and laundry! You're a good mum.”
From the stay at home mum to the working mum and the mum who fed her kids take away all week and the mum who cooked every night – you are all good mums!
She finished her post with a message to those who still wish to judge.
"To the mums who judge other mums for ANY of the above? Glass houses, friend. Glass houses."
This post has been shared over 4,000 times and with many thanking the mum for her kind words.
"Thank you for these words. Mum guilt no matter how you raise your kids is so real and pervasive, being constantly judged makes it all so much harder. Thanks for the verbal hug," wrote one commenter.
Another added: "Oh this is perfect! I'm so blessed to know hundreds of good mums and dads! I'm sharing! Let's encourage and support each other! It's rough out there!"
