Six scientific reasons why March babies are winning at life
Woo-hoo!
Whether you were born in March, have a March child or you’re expecting a baby during this month, then you’re in luck. According to science, there are lots of reasons why people born during this month have an advantage over the rest of us.
1 They are happy and optimistic
Babies born in March are believed to have a positive, sunny outlook on life according to research. A 2014 Hungarian study found that people born in March (and also April and May) were more likely to be happy and optimistic than those born at other times of the year.
2 They are successful in business
March bubs are trailblazers when it comes to corporate careers, with studies showing that a higher percentage of CEOs are born in March than any other month. One study of 375 CEOs found 12.5% of those holding the position were born in March.
3 They are destined to be (slightly) taller
People born toward the end of March were found to be taller, according to a 1998 Austrian study reported in the LA Times. The height difference was small, but the study sample looked at half a million men. The study speculated it was the exposure to light-dependent melatonin that stimulated secretion of growth hormones in mothers that led to taller babies being born toward the end of March.
4 They’re a Pisces or Aries
Babies born between March 1 and March 20 are Piscean, a sign known for being compassionate, giving, and extremely caring. Those born after March 20 fall under the sign of Aries and are known for being creative, passionate and energetic.
5 Their birth stone is aquamarine
Aquamarine, the birthstone of March, has a rich blue colour and has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope. Aquamarine is believed to be a soothing stone which can quell fears, protect, provide foresight, courage, and happiness. Its tones range from pale to deep blue and are reminiscent of the sea.
6 They’re likely to be highly creative
From Albert Einstein to Vincent van Gogh, lots of famous thinkers, artists, singers, actors and athletes have birthdays in March. Daniel Craig, Dr Seuss, Chris Martin, Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Caine, Quincy Jones and Shaquille O'Neal are just some of a few famous people who are born during lucky March.
