Queensland Mum accused of faking daughters cancer story.

A Queensland mother claimed her 5-year-old daughter was dying from a brain tumour has been charged with torture and fraud.
It is alleged that the mother faked the terminal illness for financial gain.
The Mum in her 30’s had told her daughter that she had an aggressive 15cm brain tumour. Police claim that the child does not have cancer and is not undergoing any medical treatment.
The mother set up a Facebook page claiming that her daughter only had months left to live and also received donations from Go Fund Me.
Appearing at Brisbane Magistrates Court she is facing one count of torture and three fraud charges.
The court heard that the five-year-old came to the attention of the police after unexplained absences at school. Her mother was asked to produce medical certificates, it was then the five-year-old was removed from school.

Despite the child not having cancer, her mother presented her at hospital several times this year for MRI scans, she also claimed her daughter was having seizures and called for ambulances.
Medical staff found that the child was fit and well.
Magistrate Jacqui Payne has granted the mother bail on the condition that she have no contact with her daughter without approval and that she will not access the Go Fund Me website.

The mother will return to court later next month.
