Product recall on popular child seat sold at Baby Bunting
“May result in serious injury to death”
A popular Childrens car seat has been recalled.
The car seat is sold nationally online an in store at Baby Bunting.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued an urgent recall on Joie i-Travvel Car Seat.
Testing of the product has identified safety concerns. The recall is due to a faulty anchor point which may detach from the car seat.
Says the ACCC: “If the harness anchor point detaches, the child may not be adequately restrained, which may result in serious injury or death to the child.”
Model numbers C1209BANOR600 or C1209BATBK600 have been recalled.
Consumers are urged to check the model number of their car seats and stop using immediately.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or store credit.”
The seats affected were sold nationally from February 1 through to March 20.
For more information, consumers can contact the place of purchase or contact the Joie Baby AU Consumer Hotline on 02 8197 9962 (Monday to Sunday, 8am - 4pm AEST).
