The moment an angry Prince William stepped in to protect Kate
Shocking!
A new TV documentary has uncovered exactly how an angry Prince William stepped in to defend Kate Middleton after she was “harassed” during her birthday celebrations.
The bizarre incident happened back in 2007 when rumours were swirling that William was set to propose to Kate.
Paparazzi were parked outside the now Duchess of Cambridge's Chelsea home and they angered William so much he made the unusual step of releasing a statement.
During the documentary it is revealed that, "An angry Prince William issued a statement to the press, to stop harassing his girlfriend.
"Both he and Kate eventually moved to a remote corner of Wales."
It's thought the couple deliberately moved away to Wales so they could start married life without the hordes of photographers that William is known to hate after the death of his mother, Princess Diana. The couple wanted to raise George and any future children in anonymity while Prince William worked as a helicopter pilot.
A spokesman for the Prince said at the time: "Prince William is very unhappy at the paparazzi harassment of his girlfriend.
"He wants, more than anything, for it to stop.
The spokesman added, "Miss Middleton should, like any other private individual, be able to go about her everyday business without this kind of intrusion.
"The situation is proving unbearable for all those concerned."
