A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after police caught him trying to drive across Australia.
The boy, who hasn't been named, was pulled over by police on the Barrier Highway as he attempted to drive from New South Wales to Perth, ABC news reports.
Police say they noticed the car on Saturday as the bumper was dragging along the ground.
"Checks revealed the driver to be a 12-year-old boy travelling from Kendall, NSW, on his way to Perth," police said in a statement.
Reports say the boy had already driven more than 1,000 kilometres.
The Guardian says the boy was taken to Broken Hill police station for questioning.
