Kate Middleton’s younger sister is expecting her first baby with husband James Matthews, and has found a great way to help beat the bloat during the hot British summer.
Writing in her regular column for Waitrose Weekend, the 34-year-old revealed that swimming has been fantastic for helping her cope with her pregnancy.
“Swimming throughout pregnancy offers a wonderful feeling of weightlessness,” she explains.
“From personal experience, I'd confidently say I find it has been the most enjoyable and rewarding form of exercise since I found out I was expecting.”
Pippa has said that she has been inspired to stay fit during her pregnancy thanks to Meghan Markle’s friend Serena Williams, who played tennis all through her own pregnancy.
“As the summer weather contributes to feelings of bloating and swelling, swimming will keep your body cooler while exercising, something that is a relief in pregnancy, preventing swelling in the arms and legs,” she adds.
During her first trimester, Pippa worked out for 45 minutes three to four times a week, depending on her energy levels.
