Children can come out with the strangest things, from commenting on people they see on the bus to remarking on mum’s “jiggly” tummy.
However, sometimes their comments can take an eery turn, especially when they relate to ghosts, past lives or “seeing” things no-one else can see.
On a recent Reddit thread, parents shared some of the creepiest comments their children have made, and frankly they’ll give you the chills.
“Picked [my son] up from daycare when he was 3,” wrote one father. “Driving home, totally quiet, him just staring out the window... he randomly asks "hey dad, 'member that time we died in a fire?”
“My 3 yo daughter was going through the monsters under her bed phase. Lasted for weeks, and it was really wearing on her mom & me,” added another.
“One night after mom tried to put her to bed, she tagged me in. After 30 minutes, I grew pretty frustrated. In a last ditch attempt, I promised my daughter that there weren't any monster under her bed. She replied, ‘I know. Now they're behind you.’ After that, I let her sleep with us for a week.”
“I heard the one-year-old's high chair move even though nobody was near it. I asked the three-year-old, ‘what was that?’ and he said, while pointing to the chair, "what is SHE doing here!?”
Another woman shared a creepy comment her son made about having “another mommy.”
When my oldest son was about three he asked one night at bed time. “Mommy I like you better than my fake mommy”. Me “who's your fake mommy?” Him “You can't see her. She tucks me in after you do.”
And let’s not forget the chilling story of the “little girl with the red eyes”.
Do your children have a sixth sense? Have they ever seen something no-one else can?
