New Australian $50 note: Spelling mistake spotted on freshly minted bills
Can you see it?
There is reportedly a spelling mistake on the new Australian $50 note, with the word 'responsibility' repeatedly misspelt.
On Tuesday, a caller revealed the mistake to Triple M's Hot Breakfast program, Seven News reports.
The error apparently appears on the left of the note, under the image of the King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Edith Cowan, a social reformer whom the note honours, helped establish the women’s and maternity hospital in Sydney.
"I stand here today in the unique position of being the first woman in an Australian parliament. It is a great responsibilty," the text reads.
The word responsibility is missing the final 'i' in the Edith Cowan speech. The speech appears more than once on the note and the word is reportedly misspelt each time.
