A five-year-old girl who has been missing for nearly 24 hours and sparked a huge manhunt in Queensland has been found.
Jocelyn Lewis was last seen at Nielsens Road, Nerang, near the Pacific Motorway overpass at 4.30pm on Sunday after running away from her family.
However, she has been found safe and well after a passing motorist spotted her, according to the Courier Mail.
Her father Steve Lewis has told a media conference: “They’ve checked her out and said she’s OK. I haven’t slept at all. She is hungry and thirsty.”
“We started to get very worried. We thank the community for doing it (searching). I was getting very concerned that it was going to go the other way.”
A 160-strong search party including police, SES and the dog squad spent this morning looking for Jocelyn, an only child. Police advised that she had a medical condition, which they did not disclose.
