A man has tried to snatch two young children in Perth by pretending to deliver a letter to their grandmother’s house.
The man allegedly shoved the woman aside and went into the Forrestfield property on Wednesday, according to Nine News.
The woman’s grandchildren were playing inside and he attempted to lure two girls, eight and seven, to go with him.
When the children refused to go with him, the offender fled the scene.
Police are investigating and have asked the public to come forward with information about the man, who is described as stocky with olive skin and short black hair.
He may have been driving a vehicle similar to a grey Honda CRV, with the number plates obscured.
The incident comes a week after a seven-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from a Kmart store in Brisbane.
The young girl was driven to nearby bushland and sexually assaulted before being returned to the shopping centre.
