A Sydney mum was shocked to discover a nail in her green beans after serving them up to her family for dinner last night.
“Just found a NAIL in my beans. Woolworths Lane Cove… Bought this afternoon,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Do we have a strawberry needle copy cat in the neighbourhood? Shocking.”
The beans had been purchased loose, the mum of two said. Her husband grabbed a handful and popped them in a bag without realizing.
The woman contacted the police, who directed her to the Department of Primary Industries.
“That is shocking!” said one commenter.
“I don’t think it’s the fault of Woolworths, or the grower ... more so some sicko who has graduated to a higher level of domestic terrorism! Man, I hope they find these people pronto!!!” said another.
Woolworths did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
