Police have found human remains in a national park on the mid-north coast of NSW.
The remains, found in Yarratt State Forest 20 kilometres north of Taree, are just an hour’s drive from the house where William Tyrrell disappeared four years ago.
Firefighters came across the grisly discovery while attending to a small bushfire at around 6.10am on Thursday.
The remains are believed to belong to an adult human, but there are no fresh reports of anyone missing in the area.
Police from Manning-Great Lakes Police District were called to the scene and have initiated an investigation, according to Nine News.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the identity and the cause of death.
