DIY Christmas wreath

Get festive and recycle at the same time!

There is nothing more welcoming at Christmas than a Christmas wreath hanging on the front door, and they are also a great way to find a give old Christmas trees and decorations a second life.  

What you will need:

A ring base in your desired size
Wire
Wire clippers
Branch clippers
An assortment of pre-loved Christmas decorations
Branches, either fresh or this is a great chance to upcycle an old Christmas tree.
Pre-loved fake plants

Directions:

Step 1:

Cut 8 x tree boughs 30cm long to make a bundle. You will have to use more or fewer boughs to fit your size of wreath. Smaller wreaths should have shorter boughs while large wreathes will require long flowing boughs, cut all to the same length.

Step 2:

Twist or tie the wire securely to the base ring.

Step 3:

Tightly weave the wire around one bundle 5-8 times.

Step 4:

Continue adding more bundles of branches, one at a time, wrapping them with wire until you are happy with the final look.

Step 5:

Twist wire to the base ring until secure and cut off the ends with wire clippers.

Step 6:

Decorate your wreath with your favourite decorations and secure each with a small piece of wire.
