Confirmed: Gogglebox star Angie Kent is the next Bachelorette!
The 29-year-old is ready for love!
Former Gogglebox star Angie Kent is Australia's new Bachelorette.
Channel 10 confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing the first official photo of Angie holding a red rose.
“Introducing our lovable Bachelorette for 2019, Angie. From the couch to the jungle, she's ready to find love,” said a network spokesperson.
New Idea magazine was first to report that Angie had signed a contract with the network, just hours before the official announcement.
Angie was one of the original cast members on Gogglebox Australia in 2015, alongside her housemate Yvie Jones.
The 29-year-old Sunshine Coast resident shared her excitement on her own Instagram page shortly after the official reveal.
“Well… it's official – I'm the new Bachelorette!” she wrote. “I've always been the gal who loves to make everyone laugh, but now I reckon it's time to have someone laugh with me, rather than at me.
“My heart is full, and after years of experiencing all life has to offer I finally have enough self-love and I'm open to all of life's amazing possibilities.
“So, if 20 or so fellas want to get to know me and potentially end up being my partner in life and love – I say, "Why not? Who am I to turn down the chance to find love? Let's give it a red hot go! Watch this space – the adventure awaits!”
Filming is reportedly due to start in the next few weeks. The Bachelorette, hosted by Osher Günsberg, will return later this year.
