‘So simple!’ The miracle Bunnings hack to remove those black stains from your toilet
'No hard work, works every time!'
It's the embarrassing problem no-one wants to talk about but many of us suffer through - those stubborn stains at the bottom of your toilet!
But now a group of miracle mums have lifted the lid - pardon the pun! - on a cleaning hack that will banish them for good, with no scrubbing or hard work.
Revealing all on the always fabulous Mums Who Clean Facebook page, the home cleaning experts reveal that one simple Bunnings product is all you need to banish the stains - which are usually caused from mineral deposits in your water, building up over time.
The answer? Scalex - a heavy duty home descaler by Hillmark, available for around $11 from the hardware superstore.
Says Sam: 'So I promised to report back on “operation toilet clean”. As an experiment I tried most of the suggestions. Here’s the results. Coca-Cola- Zero result; dishwasher tab - zero, Polident - zero, citric acid - about 20%. ( mostly just lightened it” ) And then I used the Scalex - OMG - Brilliant! Here’s before & after.'
Said member Louise: 'SCALEX👏👏🚽 Look at the comparison 😱
'Before anyone judges me no i am not a filthy person. no my toilet does not look like that because i did not clean. I rent the property and the first pic is how the toilet was when i moved in i had tried everything.'
Said Jemima: 'OMG, scalex is amazing!!!
'I soaked my en-suite toilet last night and I am shocked and amazed. Thanks MWC, as I never would have though to have done this!! Now I don’t have to cringe every time I sit on the bathroom floor with my son who is toilet training!'
Added member Nicole: 'I have been reading all your posts about cleaning the toilet due to calcium and mineral build up. I purchased Scalex today as I too have tried everything. Check out my before and after shots, (the before was so much worst than shown, as the white Scalex powder is hiding the crime underneath). Best $11
I have spent for a cleaning product. Can’t recommend this product enough.'
Added Naomi: 'THANK YOU all that recommend Scalex...this was my toilet that I had put up with for over 10 year's because nothing I tried worked. Today I feel like I have a new toilet 😊😊Amazing how something so stupid makes you so happy.
I will put a side note in ....If you had done it once and it didnt work keep trying. I had done the process 3 times (each time getting small amounts off) then I dissolved the solution in with boiling water and left it it in the toilet overnight. I scrubbed it this morning with a toilet brush. Soooo Happy 🙌🙌😊'
Added another fan: 'Scalex for the win every time... No hard work, pour it in with hot water, wait.. done!!'
Said one more: 'My results too. I can’t believe it. It’s driven me crazy for the last few years. So simple.'
