Breaking: Popular Myer store forced to close after employee tests positive for coronavirus
Shoppers who visited the store between March 11 and March 17 have been asked to stay vigilant
Myer has been forced to close one of its most popular Sydney stores after an employee tested positive for coronavirus.
The Castle Hill branch of the department store chain has closed its doors to undergo rigorous cleaning.
Shoppers who visited the store between March 11 and March 17 have been asked to stay especially vigilant for symptoms of the virus which has infected nearly 685 people nationwide.
“We can advise that a concession employee at the Castle Hill store has returned a positive result for COVID-19,” Myer said in a statement.
“With the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers being our priority, we enacted our COVID-19 Plan and closed the store immediately as a safety precaution.
“During this time, we will commence a full sanitisation of the store and isolate all associated team members.”
The department store did not give an indication of when the Castle Hill store would reopen.
It follows news of a Target store in Brisbane being forced to close after an employee there also tested positive for coronavirus.
