The custody war between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continues, with the actor refuting claims he hasn’t paid child support. Brad says he’s actually paid $9 million over the past 18 months, as well as $1.3 million in bills.
However, Ange has hit back by saying it was 'a loan' and completely separate to his child support payments.
The former couple have six children: Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10.
Jolie's net worth is believed to be $160 million while Pitt's is $260 million.
'Misleading and inaccurate'
The actress’ attorney claims that Brad is simply trying to distract from the fact that he hasn’t paid child support. [It’s] ‘a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children,’ the statement read.
‘Brad was asked to assist in the expense of a new home for Angelina and the children, but instead he loaned Angelina money, for which he is charging her interest on a payment plan.
Angelina will of course honor that loan. A loan is not, however, child support and to represent it as such is misleading and inaccurate.’
Lawyers representing Angelina Jolie say she is seeking 50 per cent of the children’s expenses from Pitt and claims he has not paid anything so far.
The statement concluded: ‘Angelina has had to shoulder the majority of those [expenses] without his contribution for the past two years.
Child support is not optional in California. Typically a father of means would pay these expenses voluntarily without the need for a request or court order.’
The saga continues!
