Ben Affleck Talks About Coparenting With Ex Jennifer Garner
"We do our best"
Ben Affleck and his ex wife Jennifer Garner may have separated but the father of two has opened up about working alongside his former flame to do what's "best" for their children.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 44-year-old said: "We do our best. We try our best." He joked and admitted, "My areas of expertise with the kids [are] spotty at best. Not homework."
Affleck and Garner, 44, announced their separation after a decade-long marriage in June 2015. The two, who have remained amicable and still haven't moved forward with their legal divorce are parents to Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.
Following their separation, the exes have traveled together on multiple occasions. One month after their split news, the family stayed in Atlanta while Garner filmed Miracles from Heaven. Plus, the family of five temporarily relocated to London while Affleck reprised his Batman role in Justice League.
Affleck also stated that his kids are always on the top of his mind. So much so, he told ET that his movie trailers are often filled with "personal stuff" made from them. "Drawings and art," he said. "It's a good place to hang up the latest artwork to come out of school."
Earlier this year in March, Garner similarly opened up about coparenting. "People have been so kind to my whole family, and we really do appreciate it. But, you know what, we're doing really well. ... The kids are great," she told the Today show's Savannah Guthrie. "We will make it work."
"We are definitely a modern family," she added to Natalie Morales in August, too. "We’re doing really well."
