Ben Affleck breaks his silence after rehab stint
“I am fighting for myself and my family”
Embattled actor Ben Affleck has released a candid statement after completing 40 days in a rehab facility.
The 46-year-old shared the announcement with his 4 million followers on Instagram.
'This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment center for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care,' he wrote.
The actor thanked his family, colleagues and fans for all their support, saying it has given him the ‘strength and support’ to speak out about his illness to others.
‘Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle,’ he added. ‘Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment.
‘It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.’
The actor also thanked the people who had reached out to him on social media about their own experiences with addiction.
‘Your strength is inspiring and is supporting me in ways I didn’t think was possible. It helps to know I am not alone.’
Ben is currently dating 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton.
This post from Ben comes after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner filed new documents to speed up the divorce process, according to TMZ.
The former couple share three children together.
