Pregnancy is an exciting and wonderful time for mothers, but for some, it can also be a challenge.
Here are six tips to help make your life that little bit easier.
1 Buy maternity clothes!
Comfort is key! Not everyone can afford to buy new clothes, but being comfortable is a high priority – especially during your last trimester. ASOS has a great maternity section where you can pick up some cheap staples. Alternatively, a rubber band can also be used to extend the waistband of your pants for a little bit longer.
2 Keep crackers on your bedside table.
If you suffer from morning sickness, having dry crackers on hand is great for nausea and vomiting. Some mums find eating crackers as soon as they wake up helpful.
3 Keep up your exercise regime
After talking with your doctor, determine an exercise routine that suits you. Exercise helps to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. Drink plenty of water and be sure not to over do it.
Better Health Victoria recommends using the Talk test as a guide: “As the name suggests, the women is exercising at a comfortable intensity if she is able to maintain a conversation during exercise. She should reduce the exercise intensity if this is not possible.”
4 Invest in a good pair of shoes
This is especially true for women who are working throughout their pregnancy. During the later stages of pregnancy, your back, hips and feet may develop some aches and pain, making comfy, often flat, shoes a necessity.
5 Accept help
If someone offers to help you, just say yes. Being pregnancy is tiring and you deserve all the help that comes your way.
6 Learn to say no
Leave your guilt at the door, and put yourself first. Saying no doesn’t make you mean or selfish.
