A mother has slammed her son's daycare for scrawling a fat-shaming message on a heartfelt note she had written to him
Francesca Easdon, from Texas, had sent her son Kyler to the kindergarten with the note in his lunchbox on Thursday.
"Please tell Kyler that his mommy loves him so much and I'm thinking about him," she had written.
But she was later horrified to find that someone had penned underneath the message: "No! Put him on a diet and go away!"
She reported the ordeal on her Facebook page in a post that has since gone viral.
Mother's outrage
"I sent this note in Kyler's lunchbox, thinking it would make him smile at lunchtime, but instead, I received this in return from one of the teachers," she wrote.
Easdon wrote that she had been trying to introduce healthier options for her son's lunch as part of ongoing conversations with the school.
"For the record, I feel that Kyler is absolutely perfect the way he is," she said.
'No remorse'
The livid mother says she immediately contacted the daycare to meet with the director and voice her fury.
"I was assured that it was being investigated and handled, yet almost no remorse was shown," she said.
"I am disgusted that I put my trust in these people and this is what I get in return.
"I am in absolute shock at what happened."
According to Easdon, the teacher has now been fired.
Regardless, she says she's pulled her son out of the school and enrolled him in a "beautiful new facility".
